Should You List with the Agent You Bought With?

When it comes time to put a home back on the market, should you list it with the same person who helped you find the property? Typically, no.
Should you sell your property with the agent who helped you purchase the home? This is a common question I hear from those looking to list.
The answer, typically, is no. Buyer’s agents have a very different job than agents who specialize than listing. Their skills, knowledge, and experience are different.
Therefore, listing with the same agent who helped you purchase a property can cost you a lot of time and money. It can also cause a lot of stress.
While buyer’s agents understand how best to work in one-on-one situations, seller’s agents work with multiple buyers for any given property.
“Buyer’s agents have a very different job than seller’s agents.”
A seller’s agent must know how to not only market a home, but must also have the skills to persuade buyers into paying top dollar.
When interviewing agents, ask them what percentage of their clients were buyers versus sellers.
This can give you a good idea of what their experience is. On our team, 75% of the clients we help are sellers.Because of this, we have the kind of expertise that will be most helpful for people looking to sell a home.
